 Love, Not Fear

(Originally written to members of Lou’s church to explain her persistent efforts to draw attention to 9/11 truth concerns in January 2008, modified slightly)    

Dear Fellow Seekers,

I have wondered why the 9/11 contradictions have captured my interest so strongly rather than someone who already has an influential voice in this community. I don’t know. As most of you recall, I have moved from being a person who was fairly reluctant to speak up to someone who won’t stop talking about 9/11 questions. Since I am doing things that I have never done, I am making some mistakes. I apologize for probably coming across as too dogmatic initially and maybe still do appear that way. I am trying to challenge beliefs with care, since I know it can be threatening to challenge beliefs that have become part of our self identity.

I see this endeavor as more than an armchair exercise of intellectual curiosity regarding an event that happened six years ago. It seems like an opportunity for any of us to move into a more desirable quadrant on the Love of God/Love of neighbor axis that our pastor talked about in the Leading from the Heart session. (or perhaps it gives us a chance to practice compassion and justice rather than just talk or say we believe in these values, in admittedly blunt terms).

When there is massive documented evidence from highly credentialed technical professionals, that the government story of what happened on 9/11 is false, and this dubious story has provided the justification for an illegal war, torture, and denial of our own civil liberties, it would be inconsistent for me as a Christian to ignore that information while I endorse virtues of truth, compassion, love of God and neighbor, and say that peace and justice are partners. Some people believe that we should not be talking about this topic, that it could cause more problems. I disagree. Some people dismiss this topic as crazy talk. I will deal with that in a moment. I have no doubt that each of you will think for yourself.

So keeping care in mind, to look at the 9/11 contradictions requires us to let down our defenses, proceed forward with a mindset of love instead of fear, open our studious, analytical, curious minds and hearts but not kid ourselves that we will be dealing with troubling information. It might be a good time to recall a verse from the 23^rd Psalm - “though I walk through the valley of darkness, no evil will I fear, for his rod and his staff comfort me “.

There is tremendous inertia in starting to address the 9/11 questions. In the recent table that I circulated, entitled Can We Understand Each Other? I tried to compare some views of government, media and information control, that contribute to forming beliefs. My observation was that different knowledge bases steer us to different conclusions, but each view sees the other as uninformed.  It’s very hard to have a discussion with that starting premise. Could we agree to be open to how information has been presented?

Two of the biggest blocks to considering the 9/11 question information seem to be the emotionally loaded “paranoid, and conspiracy” labels and undervaluing the information manipulation techniques, apparently used in telling the 9/11 story.

Can we look at paranoia for a minute? The dictionary defines it as a chronic psychosis characterized by delusions of persecution or showing unreasonable distrust or suspicion.

Is it paranoid or unreasonable to notice a discrepancy between the government saying there was no evidence for other explanations for building collapses and having 272 Architects and Engineers (ae911truth.org) concluding that another reason is consistent with the evidence, and feels so strongly that they are petitioning Congress for a new investigation, or hundreds of other scientists, and scholars stating that the government explanation for building collapses violates laws of science and some have lodged a formal legal challenge to NIST ? What is paranoid about learning that 118 firefighters reported hearing, seeing and experiencing explosions in all the buildings? Are all of these technical professionals delusional, especially the firefighters who are used to being in emergency situations? It seems to me these observations are based on objective data not imaginary fears.

Is it unreasonable to wonder why more than 600 professionals from varied disciplines, scientists, engineers, pilots, military, intelligence personnel and others have questioned or refuted the official story (patriotsquestion911.com) or that there are at least five professional organizations devoted to getting the truth about 9/11? (Scholars for Truth, Scholars for Truth and Justice, Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, SPINE, Pilots for 9/11 Truth) There are also several interfaith religious groups such as MUJCA (Muslim, Jewish, Christian Alliance) and All Faiths for 9/11 Truth and mainline religious leaders urging people of faith to learn and advocate for the truth.

I think another major barrier that has to be confronted before being able to hear the details of questions is how much of our information is manipulated? When we discussed John Dominic Crossan’s God and Empire, we very briefly touched on this and most seemed very reluctant to consider this.

Is it possible to learn of numerous lies after the fact that were told by the Bush administration leading up to the war in Iraq or of lies from the EPA and White House about the air quality in New York City after 9/11 or lies about the Gulf of Tonkin or Straits of Hormuz provocation and still think our news is not manipulated?

I invite you to look at chapters 3 and 4 in Barrie Zwicker’s Towers of Deception book, regarding information manipulation or to look at the website truthemergency.us regarding scholars, activists, and journalists who are concerned with lack of media transparency. Also learning about Operation Mockingbird (history of CIA influence in media) and MK Ultra (mind control experiments done by the U.S. government over 20 years) are pertinent.  * Conference presentation, 9/11: Revealing The Truth, Reclaiming Our Future 6/3/06:  "The sequence of events on 9/11 has much in common with standard hypnotic techniques for rapid trance induction.  These characteristics include hypnotizable subjects, focused attention, rapid induction, trance deepening, hypnotic suggestions, depth of trance testing, post-hypnotic suggestions, and delayed activation of anchors.

      The hypnosis scenario explains why the majority of people did not believe what they saw with their own eyes; a controlled demolition of the World Trade Center.  Although trances tend to wear off with time, repeated triggering of hypnotic anchors can prolong the effects indefinitely.  The challenge now is to break the spell for a critical mass of people prior to any future false flag terrorist attack."

The 9/11 Truth movement is not going away until justice is done. To be clear the purpose of the movement is to show how false the official story is and urge citizens to press for a new investigation. Hundreds of committed professionals, thousands of committed activists and millions in this country and abroad know the government story is a lie. (Yes, a dogmatic statement but a conclusion reached by many, based on evidence.)

I think it has a good chance of success because of the increasing number of credentialed persons, the involvement of people around the world, including other governments, the accessibility of information via the internet, and that I believe there are more good people in this world than con men. But it will require good church going people to do something beyond sitting in church pews.

Regarding other government’s involvement, on January 11^th of 2008, a member of the Japanese Parliament engaged other members and Prime Minister in a 30 minute discussion about the serious questions that have been raised re: 9/11 and questioned if Japan should be aiding the War on Terror. Officials from other governments have spoken out as well. (See patriots question 9/11.com)

On February 26, 2008, a presentation at the European Parliament entitled Europe for an Independent Commission of Inquiry will be held with international representatives, including Dr. David Ray Griffin.

Would you join me in praying for open hearts and minds and give thanks for our brothers and sisters who have had the moral courage to bring out these findings, often at peril to themselves, and for truth and justice to prevail, whatever that truth may be?
